From speadee :
(my thoughts in parentheses)

[x] You play tennis because of Tenipuri (and because of my band director)
[x] When you win at something you say “Ore-sama no bigi ni yoi na” (Most definitely)
[x] You say Tenipuri quotes at random moments ('Tarundoru" is one of my favorites)
[x] You love Tenimyu (I am addicted to it)
[x] A majority of the songs on your Ipod/Mp3 are Tenipuri/Tenimyu songs (Especially Tenimyu)
Total: 5

[x] When you go into the manga section of a book store you immediately look for Prince of Tennis (but ever since I started reading the series, my hometown bookstore stopped carrying it and no matter what bookstore I go in now, they have only vol. 1 for some reason)
[x] You own Tenipuri merchandise (a few bromides, posters, a calendar, and a pillow)
[x] You have over 20 Tenipuri songs memorized (Tenimyu songs)
[x] You watch Japanese Dramas just because they have a Tenimyu actor in them (That's the main reason)
[x] You have gotten at least one person into Tenipuri (How could I not?)
Total: 5

[x] You look on Ebay for Tenipuri stuff (and LJ)
[x] You check FF.net for new Tenipuri fanfics everyday (and I write them too)
[x] You watch animes that have Tenipuri voice actors (not my main reason for choosing an anime, but it's always exciting when you hear one you recognize. Like France from Hetalia is Momo haha.)
[x] You try to learn Tenimyu dances (FGKS and On My Way! And Fuurinkazan one day)
[x] Whenever you hear “ecstasy” you immediately think of Shiraishi (I can't think about Shiraishi without hearing that word in my head)
Total: 5

[ ] You check the Tenipuri website at least once a month (I should though even if I can't read it...)
[ ] You have had a dream containing a Tenipuri character (I can't say I've had a dream of animated characters ever)
[ ] You can read the kanji of all your favorite character’s names (I wish... I can only read hiragana and katakana)
[x] You do at least one thing Tenipuri related every day (So much more than one thing a day)
[x] You compare yourself or someone you know to a Tenipuri character (I've done this several times before)
Total: 2

[x] You try to do at least one tennis move from Tenipuri (Higoma Otoshi... that was quite the epic fail. Viking Horn... my one attempt at random was an actual success. Tightrope Walking... completely on accident, but SO COOL. Laser Beam... one of my specialties is a straight shot towards the baseline. Tsubame Gaeshi... I keep forgetting to finish in the final stance. Rondo Towards Destruction... I wish!)
[x] You have/want a jersey from your favorite team and do/would wear it in public (I want a Rikkai and Hyotei one)
[x] You have imagined yourself meeting a Tenipuri character and/or a Tenimyu actor. (The ones I want to meet the most are Baba, Masa, Kane, Ouji, Massu, Shirota, Kato Kazuki, Saitou Takumi, and KenKen.)
[x] You have a Tenipuri/Tenimyu poster/picture on your wall (Several and hoping for some more)
[x] You have tried or wanted to try one of the Tenipuri dating games (if I only had Windows...)
Total: 5

Total total: 22
Total total x 4 = 88%

Apparently... Quite obsessed xD

Hehe, wow, you have a lot checked off! I would have quite a few too.

Mar. 2nd, 2011 01:31 am (UTC)
Usually when I fill out "Have you done..." memes, I don't get a lot of them checked off. So this made me smile :)

Yay - we're both Tenipuri obsessed then! Btw - I was taking a look at your card collection and HOLY WOW. So much hard work put into it ^^

I really would like to get involved, but I'm trying to keep myself from taking too much on as I'm intern teaching. So much to do right now with the upcoming band concerts on Wed and Thur and next week as well. My mentor teachers will be gone one day next week so it will be my first time teaching the entire day by myself - ahhh!

Sleeptime now. I hope you had a good night!
Mar. 2nd, 2011 01:59 am (UTC)
It's really cool that you accidentally managed Marui's Tightrope Walking. That must have been an awesome sight. :D

You mean twistserve_tcg? :D We're around 2 years old. Activity has been very slow lately, but card collecting does feed my Tenipuri obsession. Join us when you have time. <3 Hopefully we'll still be around for quite a while. XD;

Oo, intern teaching. Good luck with everything! First time teaching the entire day by yourself must be exciting and daunting!!
Mar. 2nd, 2011 05:49 pm (UTC)
I just remember me and my brother's jaws dropping when it rolled like 6 inches along the net before falling. And then a few weeks later, he did it on accident too and it rolled a foot before falling. One day I'll beat his record!

Yeah, twistserve_tcg. :) Oh man, I would love love love to do it, but I know I don't have the time with projects coming up for my intern teaching. So I just gawk at all of its awesomeness for now.

Thanks! Yeah it will definitely be both - the students are usually fine if they know their real teacher is in the room somewhere, but it will definitely be a test for me when they aren't 'cause they're going to see what they can get away with. Nice kids, but to them, my way of teaching is a mystery so they want to know exactly what they're allowed to do.
Mar. 2nd, 2011 09:29 pm (UTC)
Hehe, what a sight! Though I guess Marui's move are actually doable (unlike some other techniques in the series...). Marui's moves all look very cool though even if they qualify as "doable". XD; I hope you'll beat his record some day. XD I don't think I've ever managed any Tenipuri moves before. They're all so hard. XD

It's nice to know you're interested. <3

Students are completely different when their teacher isn't around versus having their teacher in the room. I'm currently doing some substituting. My favorite days are when the teachers are still on campus and need to pop in from time to time because the students are a lot easier to handle then! I hope your day goes well. :)

Mar. 3rd, 2011 12:17 am (UTC)
Most of the moves are based on basic tennis concepts (especially spin control) , but taken to an extreme level (as in, it's hard to hit a ball with so much spin that it doesn't bounce and even harder to hit one with enough to spin to roll back towards you).

I find that Laser Beam and any kind of Kick Serve or power serve are the most do-able. Things like Fuji's later counters, Tezuka's moves, Atobe's Rondo Towards Destruction, and Sanada's lightning are not very realistic haha.

Are you substitute teaching any subject that you can get? Do you have a major in education? *curious*

My day was good (a bit hectic since we were herding 150 6th graders to the elementary school where there is a bigger space for them to rehearse together in. They're usually split into 4 classes by instrument groups, but their concert is on Thur and they need to play together a few times). Anyway, the 9th grade band and the 8th grade band had their concert tonight and they played well. ^^

I hope your day was great as well!
Mar. 3rd, 2011 02:22 am (UTC)
I have a hard enough time doing a normal slice. XD; I wonder if anyone's tenacious enough to try Spot...

Sanada's Lightning... hahaha. XD; His moves look very cool though.

Mm, I have an M.A. in Education and a multiple subject teaching credential which usually means teaching K-6. I can also substitute for higher grades if it's not more than 30 days in one classroom. I'm trying to look for a permanent position, but it's been hard! I've mostly been substituting elementary levels where the teacher teaches one class the whole day (some switch for ELA/ELD, but it depends on the teachers). Middle school, I usually only take English classes. I don't know what teachers of other subjects would expect me to do. XD;

Wow, that's a lot of students to get together! Great to hear the 9th and 8th grade bands played well. :D
Mar. 5th, 2011 01:05 am (UTC)
I can't slice a ball very well. Spin control is my weakest point - both to hit with spin and to be able to return really strong spin shots. Thankfully I have a ton of speed and a fairly strong amount of power to make up for it. And strong ball placement. At least the people I play with aren't super scary strong in hitting with topspin and slices - whew.

Oh wow! Congrats on having a M.A. in Ed :) I know, finding a permanent job these days is so TOUGH. I hope you find one soon - good luck!! When I graduate in April, I will also be looking for a job, but unfortunately, fine arts (in my case, band) is really hard to find a job in. I could have taught science or math, but I have such a passion for music and I figured I'd want to be happy for my life.

Thanks! The 6th and 7th graders also played very well the next night :D Now the two high school groups are left to do their concert next Wednesday before we start learning new music. And I'll be conducting two pieces (one with the high school concert band and the other with the 8th grade band) so I have quite a bit to get ready before next Wednesday.
Mar. 7th, 2011 12:41 am (UTC)
My brother is very fond of slices... at least now I can recognize it when he does one. *shakes head* I'm not fond of receiving them. XD

Thanks! I hope you will find a job without too much trouble after April. It's so uplifting to hear when someone is pursuing something they're passionate about. <3

I'm impressed just by hearing about all this. :D
Mar. 2nd, 2011 01:36 am (UTC)
Obssesion is good 8D!

Jaja, i began to search the animes with Massun in it xD, i found some goods series like True Tears and Ginga Densetsu Weed 8D. Oh and you like Suwabe right? Maybe you can check "Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu", Suwabe makes the voice of one character called Mirian Froaude

Well, You can make a Laser Beam *o* Coooool!!

PD: We love Tenimyu \o/ ! We love Tenipuri \o/!!
Mar. 2nd, 2011 01:51 am (UTC)
Hmmm, never heard of "Danestsu no Yuusha no Densetsu". I really haven't tried that hard to search for animes with them in it 'cause I don't have time to watch a lot and I'm quite picky about what I do watch (good sensible plot, great art design, character development and interactions, etc.) I'll look into that one though since I love his voice :) Thanks for letting me know! I just get excited when I recognize a voice in an anime without looking it up to see who it is.

I have a particular talent for hitting the ball right onto the line and my best shot is a very powerful straight shot that lands near the baseline (Laserbeam). I just don't do the ending pose because my friends would be extra confused. As a player, I'm very fast, fairly powerful, and have a knack for ball placement , but my serves lack power and I don't play with a lot of spin on the ball. I like to think of myself as a Kenya/Fuji/Yagyuu/Oshitari fusion of play styles :P
Mar. 2nd, 2011 01:43 am (UTC)
o.o you can do a laser beam?
It's funny, the Tenimyu dances that you tried to learn are ones that I've beem trying to learn. ^-^
Mar. 2nd, 2011 01:56 am (UTC)
A very powerful straight shot that lands near the baseline - yes. Mostly on my backhand shots though. My forehand is usually angled towards a corner. Just no fancy pose - my friends wouldn't understand haha.

I blame that video of FGKS and On My Way for me attempting to learn them since they go through it step-by-step. xD Only I need some more space to do some of the bigger moves - living room is too small.

As for Fuurinkazan... I feel the need to know the dorkiest dancing from the entire series. Starting with Sanada's epic leg move from Dream Live 5th :P
Mar. 2nd, 2011 02:33 am (UTC)
Are you using the Minna de odorou video? because that's what I've been using.
I think that I wanted to learn FuRinKaZan is because I want to cosplay Sanada at some point.
Mar. 2nd, 2011 05:52 pm (UTC)
Most definitely. It does crack me up as I watch it though. Haven't tried since the summer because I'm very busy with intern teaching, but will get back to it one of these days.

I'm pretty sure my first cosplay will be Yagyuu even I love Atobe the most. I'm a sucker for those wristbands they wear with everything. xD
Mar. 2nd, 2011 07:01 pm (UTC)
...Do you have a Myanimelist account by any chance? I know this is kind of random but...
Mar. 2nd, 2011 11:27 pm (UTC)
Yes I do :) It's the first place I've joined to deal with fandom and anime and the like. My username is KeigoAtobe007. Feel free to add me. And I check that website daily ^^
Mar. 3rd, 2011 01:27 am (UTC)
I knew it! actually I think I am already one of your friends on there. My username is hikaru9092. ^-^
Mar. 3rd, 2011 11:00 pm (UTC)
Amazing how that works, doesn't it? Now we're friends here too :)

Just curious, but what gave it away? ^^ I wonder if I could have recognized from your LJ if it was you...
Mar. 3rd, 2011 11:49 pm (UTC)
I love when things like that happen.

When you said that you were intern teaching I think. I remebered you said it in one of the groups both of us are in. Then I started to think about it more. like both usernames have "007" and Your likeing of Atobe. ^-^
Mar. 4th, 2011 10:46 pm (UTC)
xD That's awesome. I never thought about the mention of intern teaching. I'm hoping to put more of an "About Me" entry on so that there's something about real life amidst all of this PoT. This week was quite busy because the band program had two concerts and so my nights were either taken or I was catching up on stuff.

Yup - all of my screen names have 007 in them :) It's unique haha.
Mar. 20th, 2011 06:08 pm (UTC)
I guess I'm also one of those ultimate PoT fans 8DD I just don't play tennis D: (But I wanted to, I called to one tennis club to join but then, chess activities disrupted my plans :D)
But I guess I have aout 95% xDD
"You can read the kanji of all your favorite character’s names,"
if you opened my school books, there is everywhere written Marui Bunta and Niou Masaharu in kanji, all TeniPuri characters/actors/related things and quotes by hiragana and such :D Oh, I pretend that I can do Japanese XDD
Sep. 19th, 2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
Hm. I only got 44% (aka 11 checked). ._.;

I noticed an earlier comment about Ginga Densetsu Weed - I'm weird in that I got into Ginga Nagareboshi Gin and Densetsu Weed BEFORE I knew Tenipuri. ...After I had gotten into Tenipuri, I was surprised at how many seiyuu from it were in Densetsu Weed. XD (I squealed at Gin Ishida being Jerome in GDW, I love Jerome. Too bad they cut George from the anime, he's my favorite... and such a badass for someone who looks like his MOTHER.)
