Music all around!

Ren Jinguji is officially an awesome combination of Atobe and Oshitari in personality (and almost in looks).
This picture is just.... beautiful. Can't you hear Suwabe's voice saying something so confidently romantic-bordering-on-seductive just by looking at this picture? XD + ^^ *flails*

Anyway, watched nine episodes in two days (an anime watching record for me!... I usually can't watch more than like two or three a day). Utapuri didn't end up being as so-so as I initially thought it was going to be. I enjoyed it for all of the insert songs (three, now four, of my favorite singing voices are in it!), the pretty good artwork, and the fact that the main character didn't make me want to punch her until Ep. 9. I have a hard time with super insecure/indecisive characters. It does feel slightly rushed, but that's probably because it's only 13 episodes long. La Corda (one of my loves!) was 26 episodes long so the boys had more time to... be more hesitant about realizing they love the main character and to be shy when it came to confessing.

If I was the main character and I had to choose... Ren Jinguji no question!
I tend to gravitate towards serious perfectionist characters (Ichinose (Mamoru's character)) or immensely talented BAs. And intelligent gentlemen (Hijirikawa (Suzumura's character) is pretty close to this).
But I'm also drawn to strong confidence and charisma and romance... which sums Ren up quite well!
But all characters that I really like have very deep personalities and tend to have a complex or troubled past of some sorts.

Side note: Kishou's character, Natsuki Shinomiya is... unique. SPOILER: He's got two personalities.
Depends on if he has his glasses on or off. I point this out because I'm reminded of a game called Kichiku Megane (never played, but the artwork is very nice. Hard Yaoi warning for those who prefer not to go there) where the main character is two different personalities depending on if he has his glasses on or off.

Anyway, currently, I'm working on downloading the character songs and auditions songs and whatever else related to Utapuri because most of the music is enjoyable to listen to. But I'm trying to do it at home in dial-up land (max speed... 5 KB/sec). Makes each four-song album take 2-3.5 hours to download X.X However, I am going to a wifi spot tomorrow and getting the rest. Suwabe's 'Seaki no Hate Made Believe Heart' and Kishou's 'Top Star Revolution' are my absolute favs ('Knocking on the Mind' by Suzumura, 'Orion de SHOUT OUT' by Kishou, and 'Nanairo no Konpasu' by Mamoru are pretty darn good too). *is so geeked because of all of this music*

In other news, I went to see my university's marching band today where they did a pep rally in a city 45 minutes from home (my university is 1.5 hours away so this was nice!). For only being in Day 4 of band camp, they sound absolutely fantastic! And I got hug tackled by half of the band and it felt so wonderful to see all of my friends smiling because they were happy to see me. ^^ It just reminded me of how much of a large and positive impact I had on the band while I was there. And the trombones played the F-tuning warm-up for me at Level 7 (codeword for 'fff+'/very freaking loud, but with a great sound!). Just what I needed to bring up my spirits while I deal with the fail!job market.

And I got to see my band director/my top role model who greeted me with such a heartwarming and strong hug. OMG I MISS HIM. We found some time to catch up during dinner and it was comforting and enjoyable. He was the closest person to me during school and hardly a day went by where I didn't talk with/work for/see him. We were supposed to have a final tennis match too, but I wasn't around in the summer 'cause the brother worked on the weekdays and needed the car, and he couldn't do weekends because he has three kids now. We'll make it work at some point - I need to crush him! XD

Hoping to find some pictures from the event to put up at a later date! They made the local news (because the TV station is based in that city) and I saw the back of my head in it lol. My TV debut was actually made at the ultimate rivalry football game when the band was down in the endzone during the fourth quarter and we just scored a touchdown to pull ahead in the game. Me leaping up and down in the air cheering like crazy was seen by a lot of my friends on ESPN2  and they let me know on FB. Good times XD
